Dear patients of Johnson County OB/GYN,

We are excited to be a part of your medical care! As we adapt to COVID-19 we are taking steps to provide a safer environment for you and your family. In order to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 we have made the following changes:

  • We are adjusting our schedules to work safely as a team. You may see a different physician or nurse practitioner than you were originally scheduled to see.
  • We are following national guidelines developed by Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians to decrease the number of visits during uncomplicated pregnancies. You may have fewer visits if things are going well.
  • Gynecologic preventative care visits and elective surgeries will be postponed.
  • Telehealth visits (see section below) will start to be available. You may see one of our physicians or nurse practitioners remotely via video using your mobile device or computer. Please be aware you may receive phone calls from an unfamiliar phone number.
  • Visitors, including children, will not be permitted in clinic. Facetime and phone calls will be permitted so family can participate in your care.
  • We will employ screening at the door. Patients who have concerning respiratory symptoms will be asked to reschedule and guidance on home care will be provided .
  • We will employ a "waiting room in your car" to avoid crowds in our waiting areas.
  • Obstetric patients are asked to call our office at 913-236-6455 prior to coming in to help hospital staff be prepared for your arrival.
  • We will continue to provide obstetric care including vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
  • We will continue to care for patients with gynecologic concerns including counseling, in-clinic procedures, contraception, and urgent surgeries where indicated.
  • Nurse triage will still be available to answer questions.

It is our sincere goal to provide safe, compassionate care as we navigate this difficult time. Thank you for your understanding and for trusting us with your health.

Warm regards,

The physicians of Johnson County OBGYN
