EFFECTIVE JUNE 17th

Valued Patients of Johnson County OB/GYN:

We want to take a moment to remind you that our top priority is always your health, safety and well-being.  As we begin to increase our practice volume, we do so with caution and after much hard work and preparation for preventing the spread of infection.

JCOBGYN is following the travel related guidelines recommended by the KDHE. Click here to see the restrictions.

We are vigilant in monitoring the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment for recommendations regarding best care practices and infection control related to COVID-19.  We are confident that our new office protocols go above and beyond those recommendations to keep you safe.

  • We are committed to implementing safety protocols, and in addition to our existing measures, you should anticipate noticing the following protective efforts when you enter our office:
  • We will employ screening at the door. Patients who have concerning respiratory symptoms will be asked to reschedule and guidance on home care will be provided.
  • Face masks will be worn by our office staff when social distancing cannot be maintained.
  • Increased efforts to disinfect throughout our office and reception area.
  • Increased disinfecting protocol in our exam and ultrasound rooms.
  • Increased cleaning protocols of equipment used in the office.
  • Changes to provider schedules spreading patient’s appointments out to avoid a crowded waiting room
  • The physicians will have fewer clinic days to avoid high volumes of patients and a crowded waiting room.
In addition to our efforts, we ask for your cooperation and support with the following temporary safety measures as we work through this ever-changing situation:

  • Please be flexible with us, we are working very hard to accommodate your needs.
  • Wear a mask at all times while in the office.
  • Maintain social distancing practices in our waiting room.
  • You may be asked to wait in your car and receive a call when our staff is ready for your appointment.
  • Visitors, including children, will not be permitted in clinic. Facetime and phone calls will be permitted so family can participate in your care. Minors may be accompanied by an adult.
  • Effective May 4th, one support person may be present for OB ultrasounds. They will be asked to return to their car during your appointment.
  • Annual exams and postpartum exams will be scheduled with our fabulous team of Nurse Practitioners until we are able to safely increase clinic volume.
  • Obstetric patients are asked to call our office at 913-236-6455 to alert the doctor on call prior to coming to the hospital so we are prepared for your arrival.
As always, we will continue to provide obstetric care including vaginal and cesarean deliveries. We will continue to care for patients with gynecologic concerns including counseling, in-clinic procedures, contraception, and surgeries when indicated. Nurse triage will still be available to answer questions.

Thank you for your patience, grace and flexibility as we all work to maintain safety measures when you visit our office.  We value every one of you.  We promise to keep you updated through this dynamic situation.

Warm Regards,

The Physicians of Johnson County OB/GYN
